A successful final presentation was held for eight architecture students who, as part of their design project “KREISRUND,” developed a successor to the former “Spinne” in the city park. The terraced seating structure is composed of identical wooden modules and is designed entirely with circular principles in mind: modules, triangular seating elements, and foundation components can be manually disassembled and reassembled in different configurations at new locations.
The modules are based on the “STAB 6” system, consisting of six larch wood beams that form a spatial structure. Thanks to constructive wood protection methods, the design promises long-term durability in outdoor conditions.
As part of the “Glow Up Our Campus!” initiative, the university rectorate is enabling the implementation of the modular seating structure on the lawn in front of the temporary lecture hall. The project is scheduled to be realized this summer through a self-build process carried out by the students themselves.
