The BioMat Pavilion 2018 FLEXIBLE FORMS is one of 16 awardees of 178 submitted projects.
The Research Pavilion covered an area of 55 m2 with a volume of 120 m3 and a span of 9.5 m and a hight of 3,6 m.
It was built of biocomopsite sanvwich elements in summer 2019 on the city campus of the University of Stuttgart. The double bent, parametric segmented shell was supported by three bent glue-laminated beams.The geometry of the shell was similar to a 3D texture, where the bent biocomposite elements were connected in all directions in the tree-dimensional space.
