We are happy to welcome Jochen Stahl as a visiting professor for “Innovations in Timber Construction” at the ITKE. Jochen is partner in the international structural engineering firm Fast + Epp. They are responsible for some of the most advanced timber projects of our time such as the UBC Tallwood building in Vancouver, The Arbour in Toronto which will serve as an educational hub for George Brown College, or the restoration of Frei Otto’s Multihalle in Mannheim. Jochen will support and enrich the teaching and research at ITKE with his professional experience.
The professorship is part of the research group "Architecture and Timber Construction", consisting of one architect (Markus Lager at the Institute of Building Construction IBK) and one civil engineer (Jochen Stahl at ITKE) to promote the use of timber in architecture. The research group is funded by the Ministry of Rural Affairs in the State of Baden Württemberg.
