livMatS pavilion, model for sustainable building with natural fibres

Researchers from the Universities of Freiburg and Stuttgart presented the bio-inspired "livMatS Pavilion" in the Botanical Garden of the University of Freiburg in a press talk.

Participating in the talk were: Prof. Dr. Thomas Speck, Director of the Botanical Garden and member of the speaker team of the Living, Adaptive and Energy-autonomous Materials Systems (livMatS) cluster of excellence at the University of Freiburg, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Rühe, Institute of Microsystems Engineering and member of the speaker team of the livMatS cluster of excellence at the University of Freiburg, Prof. Achim Menges, Institute for Computer-based Design and Construction (ICD) and spokesperson of the Integrative Computational Design and Construction for Architecture (IntCDC) cluster of excellence at the University of Stuttgart, and Prof. Dr. Jan Knippers, Institute for Load-bearing Structures and Structural Design (ITKE) and co-spokesperson of the IntCDC cluster of excellence at the University of Stuttgart.
